5/3/10

We are planning a double header this weekend in western NC.

3/29/10

Back at Hickory this weekend and we finished 3rd this time.  While we were faster than most in practice, a faulty shock kept us behind the leaders.

3/22/10

A good start to the 2010 season this weekend.  After a great qualifying position, we had a fuel delivery issue which pushed us towards the rear.  We got lucky and that cleared up, but not in time to take the first place position.

8/30/09

Once again we had Hickory Motor Speedway dialed in.  After qualifying on the pole, we drew second for the start.  After a great race with the #44 truck driven by Ben Ebeling we were able to take the lead.  After that the truck was great and we only increased our lead on the field.  Once again there was a caution just before the end of the race and we had to really race for the win on the final laps.  Thanks to all involved in making this happen.

Orange county speedway was, well orange county speedway.  Although we didn't win it, we had a decent run and didn't cause any damage.  We should get to move up a couple of spots due to drivers above us being caught with illegal equipment, but that is not official as of today.

7/7/09

Things went right in Hickory for us this weekend.  After a fast testing session we made very few changes and that ended up being the right thing to do.  After a good lead on the field we ended up scraping out a win for the night.  Many thanks to Marty Griggs for allowing us to drive the truck, and thanks to Randy Womack who I'm sure was helping from above.

6/4/09

Coastal Plains Raceway was probably the most professional track we've been to so far.  They really seemed to have their stuff together.  We sold our truck, but Marty Griggs has been nice enough to let us drive his backup truck while we are without.  The race went ok and we finished 5th.  More green laps could have produced a better finish, but we went home in one piece.  A consistent placing has put us 3rd in points for the season though.

5/10/09

Friday night at the Wake County Speedway was certainly interesting.  We had a good truck and a good driver, but some bad luck.  We cut a tire at some point resulting in a slow leak causing handling problems.  We were able to secure a 5th place in spite of the trouble though.

4/25/09

It was a hot day at the Orange County Speedway Saturday, but it was a good day for racing.  After a few key changes to the setup we had a pretty good feeling truck.  Of course a bit more time to practice would have made it better, but that's life.  Our fourth place finish wasn't first like we wanted, but it was certainly earned.

4/13/09

After a soggy start at Hickory Motor Speedway, we ended up being pleased with the results.  Although we had the speed to win the race, some excess rubbing between first and second caused us to loose some handling.

3/25/09

New race season, new racing schedule.  This year we're touring with the PASS truck series.  The first race was in Dillon, SC where we started with four new tires.  After blowing a motor during practice we were able to qualify 10th, start 8th (1-10 draw their start positions), and finish 8th.  It's not a win, but we drove it out of the trailer and drove in back in.  That's always better than loading up pieces.

10/15/08

After getting the "racing itch" Saturday, we decided to head out to the Mid-Atlantic Championship 350 at Caraway Speedway.  Since we just showed up Sunday, we were unable to qualify or practice.  After starting 23rd, we were able to finish 4th which pleased all involved.  There are a few pictures on the media page, but no video this time unfortunately.

9/24/08

After an extensive search for our handling problem we think we found the problem.  After getting rained out a few weeks back, we were able to have a great race at Southern National Raceway.  The truck handled as it should have and we were able to secure a second place finish in both races.  Given a few more laps, we could have fought for first.  We are sure to be back for the next truck race there on November 1st.

4/21/08

We were able to secure a 3rd place finish the other week at caraway speedway which certainly boosted morale.  This past Saturday was looking good until the rains came.  We're currently scheduled for this coming Saturday 4/26/08 to be the rain make up race day.  While we didn't race, we were able to provide two fellow drivers with high quality truck covers from our friends at racecoveralls.com.

3/23/08

We raced yesterday at Caraway Speedway with pleasing results.  After starting in 9th position, we were able to avoid trouble and finish in 5th place.  The search for speed continues.  We would like to thank racecoveralls.com for making us the best looking truck out there!

2/9/08

We are currently preparing for the 2008 season.  The body work is done, and we are painting this weekend.  Once it's all hung we'll get it all set up and head out to the races.  Check the calendar page to see when we're racing.

9/23/07

We have purchased a new truck and we took it to Caraway Speedway this weekend for a shake down run.  The truck ran good and handled pretty fair.  We struggled with a loose condition during the short practice we had during the heat of the day.  Then we ended up getting tight during the race in the evening.  After a mid-race pit stop adjustment, we managed to finish 4th due to the original not passing inspection.  Adjustments will be made and we plan on running the October 14th race at Caraway again.

5/28/07

After battling with a truck that wouldn't handle correctly all day, we ended up finishing towards the end of the pack. With the handling fading fast, a caution around lap 40 allowed us a chance for an adjustment. Despite the disappointment of not running well, we still had a good time overall due to the fact that we added a in truck race cam that night which can both be seen on the media page.

The May 5th race was Measamer Motorsports' first event of the year in the #98 Bobby Taylor Oil, RaceCoveralls Chevrolet Silverado.  Throughout practice the team incurred a few issues with some steering problems, but were able to get them resolved.  The afternoon consisted of searching for speed to contend for the win.  Pole sitter Strom Altman posted a fast lap at 17.67 with Jody trying to beat that time, but ending up in the 3rd place for qualifying with a 17.76.  After a great start to the race and battling with the leaders for 10 laps, the truck developed a handling problem.  We were able to finish in 5th, but a possible win slipped away due to a possible front shock problem.  We are currently in preparation for the next race.

4/15/2007

Things didn't go so smooth at Dillon this weekend.  During practice I got caught up in another driver's wreck and wound up backwards in the wall.  No damage to the drive train, but plenty of damage to the rear clip (cosmetic) not to mention the damage to the team's spirit.  Repairs continue, and we will be sure to update the calendar to reflect any changes to the schedule.

4/01/2007

Tested at Dillon Motor Speedway March 31st.  We were pleased with the results of testing and feel that we will do well after some track time and tweaking.  Looking forward to our first race on the 14th.

2/01/2007

Measamer Motorsports will begin it's 2007 championship campaign at the new Dillon Motor Speedway, with the first race being Saturday April 14th (see the calendar page for a full schedule).
